I found a cat in my neighborhood, he hasn't been claimed by anyone and its been 2 weeks so my family decided to keep him. Recently he has been peeing all over the house, we aren't sure if it's because he hasn't been neutered or if its because we have two other male animals? if anyone has any advice that will help him stop that would be great!!
I just adopted a cat on Saturday, and she's doing amazing.
Before I got her, I reported rodent activity in my apartment about a month ago. The exterminator stopped by today and placed a few poison traps (the kind that doesn't kill them right away and they die elsewhere) in the corners of my place. My cat doesn't seem too interested in them so far but I'm worried about when I won't be able to monitor her (like when I'm sleeping or not home). Is there a way to keep her away from these traps?
I'm cat-sitting my boyfriend's cat, Persephone, for ten weeks while he's studying overseas; we are three weeks down. Persephone is twelve-ish years old and is a (not medicated) high anxiety, spayed, Maine Coon mix. She refuses to be touched by anyone other than my boyfriend or anything other than something she perceives to be my boyfriend. She will bite, scratch, do anything to avoid contact with anyone or anything else that moves.
It's getting to be summer right now, and Persephone has been shedding like crazy and grooming like crazy. A week ago, I found a hairball (it was hidden and pretty dried out, so it may have been there a few days), and today I found another hairball. Both were several inches long and about half an inch thick. I know that grooming a cat is the best way to prevent hairballs, but Persephone absolutely WILL NOT allow me to touch her with anything, including my hands or a brush.
So my question is two-fold:
This cat always hides in cat food section, lying with food surrounding him, like a king.
Hello I wanna get a 2nd cat to keep my first one company while I'm gone I've been all over fb market place and craigslist looking for a cat I found one to adopt from someone but they said this will be the cats 3rd time rehoming do you guys think it will be a lost cause to try to get the cat to like us it's just me my other cat my gf and a hedgehog at home
How do you get your cat to trust you more?
I am asking because I feel sometimes my cat doesn't seem to trust me because when he plays he won't tends to get anxious and flee especially if he ends up on the ground laying on his back.
I've been seeing red from pure anger.
So last Thursday, my kitten litter tracked and jumped on my bed. I immediately picked him up but when I got off of my bed, he jumped out and landed on his paw. He fractured his growth plate. This was at around 23:15 so there were no vet clinics open. I didn't want to wait for the next day because injuries treated as soon as possible generally heal faster. I spent $580 of my money on the emergency visit, x-rays and putting the splint on.
I already blame myself to death for it but it happened.
Yesterday, I came home from work at 22:15 and I noticed he didn't have his splint on. My fucking retard dad took it off. The vet said to keep it on for at least 2 weeks and to go to another vet for a follow up.
All week, they've been telling me that I didn't even need to go to the vet because of their experience and medical education (complete lack of) and now they threw almost $600 down the drain and say that it's okay?
And then my mom keeps saying how bringing the kitten to our house is stressful to them?
I'm fucking livid
