Kitten and cat with clashing energy levels.

Maybe this is in the wrong place but I'm looking for some advice on the kitten my boyfriend and I just got (aka kitten came to us and we are his humans now).

There has been a cat in the house already he is incredibly laid back and absolutely loves to cuddle and be around people. The kitten on the other hand is full of so much energy and is either sleeping or terrorizing the older cat. He's constantly playfully biting the older cats neck and tail. They're fine together when the kitten gets tired and just wants to lay down but typically the cat is hiding / hissing at him. I thought maybe he was bored or not being stimulated enough so I bought some small toys. It keeps him busy occasionally but not always. Maybe i need to invest in more toys or just let the crazy kitten phase pass.

Any advice?
