My cats behavior change when I got a couch

So recently I got a couch. My cat used to lay on my bed all day long and cuddle with me. Since I've gotten the couch he lays there all the time now. He doesn't really come around anymore or want to cuddle. I'm guessing he's territorial of the couch now? I just want him to be sweet again lol. I'm not sure how to go about this.
