#cat - #newly fixed cat peeing in carpet! HELP

newly fixed cat peeing in carpet! HELP

I have a year old Mekong bobtail who was just fixed about a month ago. He has never peed outside of his litter box until recently. We keep the litter box in the guest bathroom with the door open & it's always cleaned daily. He has started oeeing at the end of the hallway & ive had it! When he pees, I make him smell it & swat him with a newspaper & put him in the bathroom with the litter box. He only pees at night when everyone is sleeping & ive caught him a few times during the day & when he sees me, see him in mid action he will run. So he KNOWS he is not supposed to pee there but continues to do it. I've scrubbed the spot continuously w different products & even have Jason Galaxy odor spray for urine, feces, vomit etc. I've had it with the peeing & don't like getting onto him. Like I said, he is fixed & only started peeing, not spraying, recently. Please help, it's so frustrating. We do have another female kitten in the house & she has been with us for about 6 months before he was even fixed so I don't see her being the issue. Thanks in advance!
