Does he need/want a buddy?
We adopted our rescue 1 1/2 years ago. He is now presumable 8 & 1/2 ish. Based on the scars, clipped ear (fixed), feline lukemia and the way he acted while adjusting, we've assumed he's been a street cat most if not all of his life.
With our schedules sometimes we are out of the house for 4 hours or 14 hours. He is never happy when we are gone all day and especially if we take a weekend. ( we always have someone come in to feed him wet food twice daily to keep with his routine)
How do we determine if he would accept another cat in the house? I'd feel bad going through adopting and then returning a cat.
