Advice please: cat missing for 4 months
I have a cat (Kirby) that I've raised since he was 3 days old. He was indoor and outdoor, and would occasionally disappear for a few days at a time. 4 months ago, we were watching a friend's dog for 2 weeks when Kirby snuck out. We saw him a few times but he never came close enough for us to get him. We've put out posters a few times but nobody ever called back. Our neighbor says he sees Kirby every once in a while, but we haven't talked to him in a month as we never know when he's home, so we have no if Kirby is still around.
Is it hopeless? Should we just give up now and assume he's gone for good? Is there anything we can do now to increase our chances of finding him?
