#cat - #Advice on leaving a cat at home for 2 weeks.

Advice on leaving a cat at home for 2 weeks.

We are going out of town for 2 weeks and have to leave the cat. Here's what I'm planning on doing:

  • four litter boxes
  • multiple large kitchen bowls and dishes filled with water
  • multiple big containers of 3 different kinds of dry food -set temp at 75/76
  • he's got toys, I can put fresh catnip in them but he really only likes to play with human interaction
  • he's got 2 good scratching boards
  • making sure the 4 places he likes to sit are nice and comfy
  • keep curtains open for natural day/night cycles

I really don't know what else to do for him. Any advice please? We have a camera set up in one of the rooms which will see the water, which I think is the most important factor. And also see him if he's in the room.

I don't know whether to leave a tv on or if he would go crazy after 2 weeks straight of tv, but in the other hand go crazy for 2 weeks straight of no human voices.

There Is plenty of windows that look out into the back. Lots of birds, squirrels, deer, foxes to look at. Maybe he'd just rather hear nature/nothing. Even leaving a tv on low in the bedroom he can probably hear that from anywhere since he's a cat, right?

I don't want him to have some kind of complex when we get back. Any creative ideas? No there is no one to come look in on him.
