Litter box problems

It is absolutely shocking how common bad litter box hygiene is for humans. At first I thought it was just immature cat owners, visiting friends at school and seeing their cats litter boxes reeking and overflowing. One of those friends telling me, "my cat does this weird thing where she poops in the bathtub." Of course she does! She's looking for a clean place to go!

Then I noticed my brother's cat's box filled to the brim. It was easy to talk to him about that, and he's been keeping up with scooping.

Now my niece and nephew sleepover and their close smell like cat urine. I visit their house, 2 cats, 1 litter box in the basement, completely full and kept next to the laundry machines and dirty clothes.

Is there any polite way to tell people they need to scoop their cat's litter box more than once a week? Do I keep my mouth shut? Thanks for your help!

Hi Cat community,

I inherited my cat, Mr Grey, a few years ago when my brother came to stay with me and left him behind. I'd never owned a cat before so I don't know much about them but he's pretty easy, meows when he's hungry or wants to go outside. He's an outside cat mostly. At the end of this year we're moving house to somewhere more inner city, we currently live in the suburbs with not a lot of traffic. How do you think he will go with moving? We have moved house with him before (twice) and he was fine, but we were still in the suburbs. I'm worried about moving him to inner city, because he likes the outdoors, the traffic etc worries me. I've grown attached to him so would rather not go down the path of re-homing him but I also don't want him to die because of cars etc. so if re-homing is the safest option that's what I'll consider doing. Can cats become indoor cats after having free-roam all their life or do I just let him continue his outdoor antics and he's probably more street smart than I think? Thoughts/suggestions?

Cat Grooming

Curious how many people out there get their cats groomed? I groom cats. A lot of them are good but sometimes they flip out. If I'm grooming a cat and it loses it mid groom I'll usually give it another go and if it does it again, send it home not done. Stressing the cat out more to finish it is not worth making sure the cat looks pretty in my opinion. I also have to look out for myself. If i get a bad bite or scratch on my hand i could be out of work for a week or more. I use a muzzle and i always have a second pair of hands available but I've witnessed a cat pull hard enough to get the muzzle off.

Where I'm getting with this is I've got a client who is threatening to come on here and slander my name and the business I work for because I didn't finish his cat. He is claiming there's a lot of cat people on here that would give our business a 1 star review because we sent his cat home unfinished. If he's willing to get something from his vet that will calm his cat down and if he's willing to stay im going to offer to finish. I didn't charge him full price because his cat didn't get done so I do plan on charging the difference of what it would have been.

Wondering what peoples thoughts are on this? Also, his cat wasn't matted so there wasn't any real reason to shave the cat besides not wanting the hair around or thinking it was making the cat hot. He could have easily asked just for a brush out and a belly shave if he wanted the cat to be cooler. Should I allow this client to come back?
